FUTHORC RUNE PENTACLE - Oak Carved Altar piece (Anglo-Saxon Futhorc Runes)
6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in diameter and just over 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) thick. Solid oak. This one is lightly finished with a natural stain to raise the carved areas and a coat of oil to protect and bring out the richness of the wood before a final polish with a rich oak wax.
This is a very special piece and one of my personal designs based upon a working altar piece from my own practice. This ornate solid oak pentacle features the twenty nine Anglo-Saxon runes around the circumference, encircling a highly symbolic carving inspired by Anglo-Saxon decorative work from a collection at the British Museum in London. I have incorporated this design here as it lays out a magical / directional pattern that perfectly relays the purpose of the piece when centred in conjunction to the runes around it. Used as a pentacle itself or as a centre piece on an altar, it is a potent working tool with many possibilities.
