THE CHAOSPHERE - Solid hardwood Altar Tablet / Consecration Paten

Regular price £145.00 £0.00 Unit price per

A CHAOSPHERE altar tablet, as a focus for sorcerous workings and meditation. *Updated design, now carved in solid hardwood*

Design inspired by Nicholas Hall's notorious classic 'Chaos & Sorcery' (1992). Carved in solid hardwood (the example shown is in walnut. 0.6 kg. Dark stained and waxed. 27cm x 27cm at the widest part. 2.3 cm thick)

"Once a set of divinatory tools has been obtained or made, the sorcerer can begin to construct other tools. The choice depends upon individual preference, however a simple but multi-purpose tool is the chaosphere. The chaosphere as previously described is an eight-rayed star, usually drawn in two dimensions as a circle with eight arrows bursting forth, and is one of the most ancient magickal symbols....If possible, the material chosen should be natural, not synthetic, as a natural substance already contains a certain amount of chaos energy. The chaosphere can be used as a spirit trap, amulet or fetish, or as a gateway into the astral...The size of the chaosphere depends upon personal choice although an eight inch diameter chaosphere enables it to be used as a focal point for visualisation... large enough to be used as a solid base on which powders and herbal mixtures can be prepared for a variety of sorcery workings" (Hall, 1992, pg 11).
