HERMES / MERCURY - Hanging Altar Tablet carved in solid walnut hardwood. 25cm tall, 13cm wide and just under 2cm thick.
A detailed hardwood tablet for altar work or decoration, depicting the Greek god Hermes / Roman God Mercury with his Caduceus staff and winged ankles. This design is based upon a personal piece used on a dedicated altar for works of prosperity, information gathering and road-opening.
This piece is carved and hand-finished from a piece of solid walnut hardwood. The design was traced etched into the wood, the carved areas are inlaid with a dark wax and then the piece is carefully polished. There is a carved / recessed panel on the back which houses a hanging fixture for wall hanging.
Ordering / Time-frames & Delivery
The catalogue pieces are individually made-to-order. Each one is unique so your piece may vary from the example pictured here, depending upon the material and finish. Completion time is estimated at 3-4 weeks. Once the work is finished and I'm completely happy with the piece, I'll contact with final photos of the work. Depending upon size and weight, your order will ship worldwide via Royal Mail (Tracked & Signed) or an international courier for larger items.
